THE HUNTER'S SILENCE
GRADUATE COLLECTION

The Hunter’s Silence, my graduate collection, explores the deep disconnection inherent in 21st-century life, urging a return to our true essence. The collection intertwines fur, feathers, and leather, creating a sensory bridge that reconnects us to our primal instincts. Each piece is designed to engage the senses, textures invite touch, metallic elements produce distinctive sounds with movement, and scented linings foster a deeper emotional bond with the garments.

Inspired by the heritage and symbolism of hunting, The Hunter’s Silence taps into the tension between predator and prey: the hunter, poised in silence, muscles coiled in anticipation, and the prey, acutely aware of its looming threat. This dynamic embodies raw instinct, survival, and the balance between stillness and motion, power and vulnerability. These contrasts are translated into androgynous silhouettes that reflect the realities of contemporary life.

The collection’s color palette draws from the muted tones of nature, navy blues, deep greens, beiges, and neutral hues, punctuated by vivid red accents, evoking the essence of Abstract Expressionist painters.

I also drew inspiration from the tactile sculptures of Pierluca degli Innocenti, which heighten the sensory experience, and Antoni Tàpies’ exploration of texture in painting, enriching the materiality of each garment.
Additionally, the photography of Santiago Sierra, with its portrayal of modernity’s complexities, influenced the narrative direction of the collection.

Much like Rothko’s use of color to evoke human emotion and Hetzel’s emphasis on texture, I aim to communicate the primal instincts central to our humanity through material and form.
