WOKE UP LIKE THIS
COLLECTION 2021
The intention behind this collection was to reflect the versatility of lingerie and sleepware. The imagery that inspired this project was a series of scenes from the Golden Age of Hollywood and everything that took place backstage. Behind the glamour of the industry, there was often a much darker reality. Abuse was not uncommon and the strength and mental fortitude of the women in the indusrty to reamin composed and in charachter is something I found truly inspiring and empowering and a big inspiration for this collection.
My aim was to debunk the belief that hyper femininity translates to a shallow experience, lower intelligence and a dependance on men. I see this collecion as a celebration of womanhood.

My journey into the world of fashion design began in October 2020, at the age of 17. It was under the mentorship of the Spanish designer, Carme Trias, that I immersed myself in the art of sewing and pattern making. My initial endeavor in the field culminated in two unique garments with porcelain incrustations. As the months passed, I witnessed a significant progression in both my knowledge and technique, fueling a desire to take on a larger, more ambitious project.
Despite being a high school Fine Arts student at the time, I found my passion in fashion and tailoring. This led me to conceptualize and commence my own collection, 'Woke Up Like This', in February 2021. Over a span of four dedicated months, I meticulously crafted a personal project that was not only expressive of my style but also served as my entry portfolio for the Bachelor in Fashion Design program at the prestigious Institute Europeo Di Design.
The collection, a testament to my design sensibilities at the time, encompasses nine lingerie looks, each designed and produced by me. Operating within the confines of a limited budget, I took charge of the entire project, from planning the photoshoot to casting the models. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to collaborate with a host of talented makeup artists, hair stylists, and photographers, making this project an immersive experience that extended beyond just design.
This project was an all-encompassing labor of love that allowed me to demonstrate my commitment to fashion, and my ability to manage and deliver a project from conception to execution, showcasing not only my design skills, but also my leadership and project management capabilities.
